For the Public

Broadcasters have a mandate to serve the public interest of the communities in which they operate. Every station in the country is a local station and very much a part of the community it is licensed to serve.

Your local ratio and television stations:

  • Provide news coverage of important issues and community events
  • Offer a lifeline for the community in disasters and times of crisis
  • Participate in community clean-ups, walk-a-thons, fundraisers and more
  • Send station staff to talk to local schools and other groups and host community events
  • Provide in-depth political campaign coverage and debates that help local voters make informed decisions

The OAB invites you to find the stations in your area and learn more about the ways in which Ohio broadcasters touch lives locally.

If you are affiliated with a government agency or nonprofit organization, discover how the OAB Public Education Partnership can help you get your message out effectively and affordably.
