OAB Engineering Resources
The OAB offers the following resources for engineers at Ohio radio and TV stations.
- Presentations from Past Ohio Broadcast Engineering Conferences
Presentation files from the 2013 Ohio Broadcast Engineering Conference are now available, along with files from the four preceding conferences:
- Engineering Hotline (OAB Members Only)
Have an engineering, repair, or maintenance question? The OAB’s Engineering Hotline provides quick and accurate answers. Calls are answered by the OAB’s Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) inspector Jack Layton, who is a Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer.
- ABIP Inspections
The OAB, in cooperation with the FCC, has established the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) to help stations ensure that they are in compliance with FCC regulations. Stations certified through ABIP are exempt from routine inspections by the FCC Field Office for three years.
- AMBER and Other Alert Program Information
Ohio radio and TV stations can play a critical role in the safe recovery of missing children and adults through the state’s AMBER Alert Plan, the Endangered Missing Child Alert, the Missing Adult Alert and the Blue Alert. Learn more about and register for these alerts.
- Broadcast Public File Training Archive
This interactive audio conference, taught by the OAB’s legal counsel of Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP, covers what should be in a station’s public file.
