Community Contributions

When the snowstorm hits, where do you turn for up-to-the-minute reports on school closings and road conditions? How can your organization hold a more successful fund drive in support of your local hospital? Where can you get immediate news on a massive power outage? Where can you hear two sides of a local tax issue debated?

The answer? Your local radio and television stations.

In 2005 – the last year for which data is available – Ohio radio and television stations contributed approximately $312 million worth of services to their communities. From public health initiatives to local government activities, Ohio broadcasters are committed to updating their communities on issues and events that affect their daily lives.
