DTV Transition Resources

Note: for information on the Ohio DTV test on Wednesday, Dec. 17, go here.

On February 17, 2009, the federal government will require all full-power television stations across the country to turn off their over-the-air analog signals and begin broadcasting only in digital. Americans who have TVs with digital tuners or who subscribe to cable or satellite will be unaffected by this transition. However, people who currently receive over-the-air broadcasts on analog television sets will need to take one of several steps to ensure they can continue to watch their favorite programs, such as:

  • Buying a converter box for their analog televisions;
  • Buying a TV with a digital tuner;
  • Connecting their TV to cable, satellite, or another pay service.

To aid individuals and organizations working to raise awareness on this issue, OAB has compiled a list of downloadable DTV transition resources. All of the following links are to documents which can be freely printed and shared.
